Rhythm

We kickoff AXIS tonight for Spring 2009! Our first 4-week series will be discussing the topic of rhythm in our lives. I had the opportunity to preach about this idea in December, and we are going to break it down and dive in a little deeper over this next month. Basically, God created everything with a sense of rhythm and syncopated motion--just look at His creation (from the human body to the delicate balance of our solar system). He created us to be in rhythm with Him in the Garden of Eden...but sin entered and the beautiful song started to get off beat. Therefore, God began working through entire Old Testament in order to have Jesus, the Messiah, come and conquer sin and death-- and now we can have a restored relationship and "get back on beat" with our Creator through Jesus' sacrifice! This is our desire for every single teenager we have the opportunity of meeting--and not only to deepen their relationship with God, but also to improve relationships with family and friends. This is the rhythm to which God is moving...will we lay down our selfish songs and join in with Him??
